Answering Islam - A Christian-Muslim dialog

  • Was Jesus Crucified?

This is a question Christians and Muslims often discuss. What is not often discussed is the variety of explanations that Muslim scholars give as to what the verses in the Qur’an mean and what exactly happened to Jesus. Most Christians have no idea that there are so many different explanations, some of which say that Jesus was crucified. Likewise, most Muslims are unaware of these different explanations and have not weighed up personally which one is best. In this article we will survey these explanations and consider what the Qur’an, the Bible, and History actually say.
  • The Rich Man and Lazarus

Christians and Muslims firmly believe in the resurrection and the after life. Also the Bible and the Qur'an teach that Jesus the Messiah miraculously raised the dead. Interestingly, Jesus told a parable contrasting a rich man and a poor man which communicates a heart-felt warning about death and hell.
  • The Cross at the Kaaba

At the heart of Easter is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. According to the Bible he was sent by God from heaven to save his people from their sins. Astonishingly, a similar story is found in Mecca at the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam. The Black Stone (Hajre Aswad) is located at its eastern corner. Authentic Islamic traditions report that it was sent by God from paradise. Whoever touches it would have their sins forgiven. This is an amazing illustration of the Christian Gospel message right in what for Muslims is the most sacred place on earth! It deserves closer scrutiny.
